Learning Environment and Social Interactions
Creating a positive learning environment is not only essential to the students in the classroom, but also the adults. Positive communication with paraprofessionals is imperative in order for the classroom to be a successful, functional learning environment for all. Creating paraprofessional lesson plans will help both the paraprofessional and the teacher get their jobs done and will alleviate any stress miscommunication can cause. It will also help to sit down at the beginning of the year and after winter break to discuss the daily and weekly duties of all adults in the classroom so that everyone is on the same page and knows what is expected of them. A model of data collection will help the paraprofessional know exactly how to assess the students and what the teacher is expecting. An example of a paraprofessional lesson plan is below.
